Did you know that collisions in space, particularly between neutron stars, are responsible for creating diverse heavy elements like gold. These cosmic events produce heavy elements through processes such as rapid neutron capture, which occurs under extreme conditions during the collisions? In other words, when my small abode has collected a certain level of eclectic relics, it bursts, which means that the ‘gold’ that is created becomes available for sale.
Dive into the rummage box, it contains the weirdest mix of delightful rubbish which I have treasured and enjoyed and I am now ready to release back into the universe for someone else’s pleasure.
What sort of things might you find?
Wooden things often find their way into my home. They are drawn to me. This beautiful old cigar box still smells of ancient tobacco. I love that. I am not sure what the item is in the gallery below, but I think it is some kind of wine holder? Google lens said it was a butter paddle ha ha, but I know that isn’t right! This one has an Australian penny from 1959.

POLISHED STONES will be found in the rummage box. With a passion for visiting the beach and cold water swimming, a collection of stones soon builds to bursting point! Using a stone tumbler to polish up some of these you can end up with a house full of shiny stones in no time. When it all gets too much I shall list small bags of these shiny delightful objects, to spread the joy.
Perhaps a decrepit old photograph album is more your thing? A fascinating glimpse into the past. I don’t know who these people are, but this kind of stuff always follows me home. This might be a rummage box find, so keep your eyes peeled.

Welcome to the Rummage Box of Obscurity. Enjoy your time here.
